Pilot in Afghanistan is missed!

This picture was taken last March before my husband, 1LT Corley Furr left for Afghanistan to serve as a Chinook helicopter pilot.  We are very proud of him and the job that he is doing.  We pray for him and all the other soldiers who so selflessly serve our country.  They willingly give up their lives and time with their families to defend our freedom.  My husband, like so many others, has missed so much during the time he has been away.  We miss him more every day and we know that this year apart is going to make us stronger as a family in the long run.  My heart goes out to all families of deployed soldiers.  I know what you are facing and how difficult it can be.  Although it is easy to feel sorry for ourselves, our suffering is nothing compared to what our soldiers go through.  They are away from everyone and everything they love but they are doing such an important job.  There are no words to express how grateful I am to these brave men and women.  God bless America!

UPDATE August 8, 2006: My husband will deploy to Iraq in a few weeks. He spent 15 months away from us only a year ago in Afghanistan, but he willingly agreed to go on this deployment as the commander of a BlackHawk unit to Iraq. He loves his job and really believes in what they are fighting for. I could not be more proud of him, or more grateful to him and all those who so selflessly sacrifice their precious time to fight for our freedom. THANK YOU to all the men and women who serve our country, and to their families who give them their unselfish support. May God bless you all and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
