More than half my heart is in Iraq... my Marine took the whole thing with
him! LCpl Jason Frye is in 2/2 of the United States Marine Corps, and in
every corner of my life. He left recently for his first tour of Iraq,
where he will serve honorably until the spring of 2006.
I have known Jason for most of my life. We grew up not very far from each
other in a very small town. We were friends in high school, but did not
see each other very often. I was the salutatorian of our high school class
of 2004, requiring me to read a speech in which I thanked him for his
dedication to his country.
Eventually our paths crossed after high school and Jason began calling me
while I was at college and he was in training with the USMC. I always
looked forward to when I would see him again.
No person has ever brought more joy into my daily life than Jason. He is
grateful to God for every breath he takes, and every part of his life is
beautiful to him. We began dating as soon as he came home for
predeployment leave this June, and every moment that we spent together is
cherished by us both.
I am hopeful that Jason knows how much I love and support him. As a
strong-minded, proud, and God-fearing American citizen, I am eternally
grateful to each soldier defending and protecting my blessed opportunity
to wait in safety for Jason to return.
Thank you for your dedication. You will all remain in my deepest prayers.
